The Ohio State football program has turned its attention to recruiting in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Now that the dust has settled from winning the national championship, the Buckeyes are putting together a plan for the Spring and how Spring ball is going to work.

Recruiting is the other big thing that is taking most of their time. The Ohio State Buckeyes are trying to land some of the best recruits in the entire country. One of them is actually the best tackle in the country. It's been a while since the Buckeyes landed someone of his caliber at that position.

Justin Frye was never able to recruit at an elite level despite his ability to develop players. Tyler Bowen looks like he's already stepping in and doing a fine job with that. Jackson Cantwell, the top recruit in the country, will be visiting Ohio State next month.

Cantwell isn't just the top tackle in the country, but he's the top overall recruit in the 2026 class. He stands at 6'8 and weighs 300 pounds, so he's huge. He's a two-sport athlete, also participating in the shot put. Cantwell is from Nixa, Missouri and has all of the major programs after him.

Cantwell will be visiting the Buckeyes in March. That will give the Buckeyes a chance to make a good impression on him. Landing him would be a massive victory early in the 2026 class, but they will have plenty of competition. Ohio State isn't the only place he's visiting next month.

Miami and Michigan will also be getting visits from Cantwell next month. He very well could set up additional visits for the month of April when most of the programs around the country are playing their Spring Game. Georgia and Missouri are also hot on him.

Being able to get Cantwell would be a great start for Bowen in Columbus. There's a lot still to do in order to get him, but getting him on campus is the first step. Now, it's up to the coaching staff to put on a great show.
