The first round of the 2026 NFL Draft was a massive advertisement for the Ohio State football program. It seemed like every pick, another Buckeye was taken. Four Buckeyes were taken in the first 11 picks, marking the first time since 1967 that had happened for a single program.

Carnell Tate was the first Buckeye taken. Caleb Downs was the final one taken in the first round. There are a couple of Buckeyes who are likely going to be taken on day 2. In fact, NFL teams still have a lot of value they can get when it comes to drafting Ohio State football players.

There are two players in particular who will likely be taken on Friday night. One of them should have been a first-round pick, while the other one has a shot to fight for a starting spot as a rookie, even if he's taken in the third round.

Kayden McDonald is someone who will likely go quickly in the second round. He was invited into the green room for the draft, but no one took him in the first round. McDonald decided to stay and will still go out on stage when he is selected. Some team is going to be very happy with him.

Caden Curry is the other Buckeye who could possibly be taken on Friday night. He finished last season with 11 sacks, which was the best of any Buckeye. He is just always making plays, and he would be a great value pick in the third round.

The main event for the Ohio State Buckeyes is over, but that doesn't mean that more players won't be realizing their NFL dreams soon. There's still plenty to watch on both Friday and Saturday night.
