Every year, it seems like the Ohio State football team has the best NFL Draft prospects. They produce pros at a level that very few programs across the country can match. There's a reason they have produced more first-round draft picks than any other school in the country.
The same amount of talent was on display for the Buckeyes this year, as well. Of course, with that level of talent, fans expected Ohio State to have a real shot at winning a national championship. Instead, they flamed out in their final two games of the year.
That doesn't scare off NFL scouts, though. The top of the draft is littered with Ohio State Buckeyes. The Beast is put together by Dane Brugler of The Athletic every year. It's the most comprehensive draft guide that anyone puts together, and it's full of Buckeyes at the top.
Four Ohio State Buckeyes grace the top of The Beast
In The Beast, four of the top 10 players available all play for the Buckeyes. Brugler has Arvell Reese as his number one overall player. Of course, he won't be taken first. That honor will go to Fernando Mendoza, who will head to the Las Vegas Raiders on draft night.
Sonny Styles is listed as his fourth-best prospect. Caleb Downs sits right behind him at fifth. Carnell Tate is the lone offensive player for the Buckeyes in the top 10, and he sits at tenth. While those players are in the top 10 overall, he also has Kayden McDonald listed as his top defensive tackle.
Later this month, it looks to be a fun time to be an Ohio State football player. It seems likely that five Buckeyes will be taken in the first round, including McDonald. Of course, there will be plenty of other guys taken in later rounds. Ohio State has a lot of depth in this draft.
Players such as Max Klare, Lorenzo Syles Jr., and Davison Igbinosun should all hear their names called, as well. All of them will be contributors to whichever team brings them in. The 2026 NFL Draft could end up being an all-time one for the Buckeyes.
