The Ohio State football program is looking to become the first program since Georgia in 2021-22 to win back-to-back national championships. Their march to the title starts against Texas in a couple of weeks. The Longhorns lost to the Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl.

Despite the loss, Texas players have decided to talk some smack. Edge player Colin Simmons put Julian Sayin's picture on his Instagram story after it was announced that Sayin will be leading the Ohio State Buckeyes this year. While there was no caption, that's a clear statement.

Simmons has decided that Sayin is a target for him and the rest of the Longhorn defense. His teammate believes that Simmons will be able to back up his trash talk, saying that his play will end up doing the talking when Texas visits the shoe.

Anthony Hill Jr. believes Colins Simmons will back up his smack talk of the Ohio State football team

While speaking to the media on Tuesday, fellow defensive player Anthony Hill Jr. was asked about Simmons' IG story. He backed up his teammate, saying his play will do the talking.

"It's cool. I mean, he's a guy that's going to go out there and be ready to play. So if you feel like that, I know he's going to back it up and be ready to go."

It's certainly going to be something that the Buckeyes are aware of heading into that game. They aren't going to let Texas talk smack like that against their starting quarterback and get away with it. They will come out with a lot of fire, especially on the offensive end.

This might not have been a good idea for Simmons to do. Ohio State scored 28 points on them in the Cotton Bowl, and Jeremiah Smith only had one catch. The offense was able to put up three touchdowns without Smith being a factor. He won't be held that silent again.

Ultimately, it will be up to Sayin to shut these guys up himself. He has to go out there and prove that he is worthy of the starting quarterback job. He is a former five-star recruit, so he certainly has the talent to light up the field. Texas is hoping to prevent that.

Simmons is going to be a target of Ohio State's offense. He'd better hope that Ohio State's offensive line is unsettled; otherwise, he could be in for a long day.
