It has been quite the offseason for former Ohio State wide receiver Terry McLaurin. The Washington Commanders' wide receiver has been working on getting a new deal with he team as he heads into the final year of his former three-year deal, but no progress has been made.
McLaurin was holding out of the first four days of training camp and getting fined $50,000 for each day missed. Well, over the weekend, McLaurin finally reported to camp, but instead of holding out, he is now holding in as he reported to camp with an ankle injury, the same one that he hurt at the end of last season, and has been put on the physically unable to perform list, per the team.

Now that McLaurin is with the team, even though he isn't practicing, he technically is no longer a holdout and isn't getting fined anymore. While in the building, though, the team announced they are still working very hard to get a deal done with McLaurin. Head coach Dan Quinn also expressed his excitement over McLaurin's return to the team.
Even with his injury, McLaurin has been speaking to the media and signing autographs with fans and has even told them that he doesn't have issues with them. McLaurin expressed frustration with the organization, saying that before the training camp started, he hadn't heard from the Commanders in over a month about his deal.
Many Commanders and former players have told the team that they just need to pay the star wide receiver. Quarterback Jaden Daniels even led a chant with the fans having them scream "Terry" over and over again, a sign that he wants his star wide receiver back on the field with him.
Obviously, McLaurin won't play if he is injured, but he also has expressed that he doesn't plan to practice or play without a new deal, one that many Ohio State fans would say he greatly deserves.
