The Ohio State football team is in Hate Week. We know how much The Game matters around here. Even Will Howard, who transferred in after four years with Kansas State, knows how much it means. This week brings out some very interesting behavior from fans.

Some of that behavior was on display just hours after the Ohio State Buckeyes beat Indiana last weekend in a top-five matchup. The Buckeyes won that game 38-15 and immediately shifted their focus to TTUN. It seems someone was angry enough with what Ohio State did to vandalize some property.

Following that game, the statue of Brutus outside of College Traditions was vandalized. In fact, it was so badly tampered with that the owners of the store said that there is no way that they can have it repaired in time for this weekend's game. The suspect who did that vandalism has now been revealed.

Suspect charged after vandalizing Brutus statue following Ohio State football vs. IU game

According to reports, the suspect is being named as Thomas Sugar, a 21-year-old man. He is being charged with vandalism and grand theft, which are both felonies. He allegedly did some pretty bad damage to the statue. Take a look at Brutus below.

As you can see, the statue took some pretty sizable damage. The video camera footage of the suspect damaging him is pretty funny as well because Brutus bounces off the ground and kicks him after he throws the statue down. He gets what he deserves on that front.

Hopefully, justice is served in this case. It's completely unnecessary to do something like this, especially the weekend before The Game. That statue should be able to stand proudly before and after the Buckeyes take on the Wolverines.

There is hope that the statue will get repaired soon, but it won't be in time for The Game.
