The Ohio State football program won the national championship in 2024. Quite frankly, they would have also won in 2022 if Noah Ruggles had hit a field goal against Georgia. They would have housed the TCU team that got crushed by the Bulldogs in the national championship.

Had the Buckeyes been able to win that game, the Big Ten would have won four straight national championships. As it stands, the conference has three straight, including the one from the Ohio State Buckeyes. It's clear that the conference is superior to the SEC now.

SEC fans haven't been taking the transition well. They have been trying to pick a fight with Jeremiah Smith in recent days, too. Yet, the head coach of Georgia, Kirby Smart, has started to acknowledge that the Big Ten is now dominant over the SEC with how things have been going.

While speaking on The Next Round, Smart understands that the Big Ten continues to crush the SEC when it matters the most.

"I just think they have a more competitive conference. Like the top of their conference, there's more good teams. It used to be, eh, Ohio State's good. Michigan's good. Indiana's really good. Now they got Oregon. They have the ability to attract good players."

Smart even acknowledged that the Big Ten might have better coaches than the SEC.

"I have so much respect for them. I'm like, 'Do they have better coaches than us?' That's what all of our coaches say. They're taking less talent, in theory, and doing more with it."

It's very interesting to hear one of the best coaches in the country acknowledge that fact. Ryan Day has certainly earned that reputation as one of those coaches. Curt Cignetti has proved he can do that, as well. The Ohio State Buckeyes are always going to be one of the top programs in the country.

The other coaches around the Big Ten are the ones who are starting to join Day in the conversation as one of the best coaches in the country. That's good for competition.
