The Ohio State head coach said it with tongue-in-cheek.

Ohio State dominated Iowa 31-14 in a game that was not close in the second half. The Buckeyes did not have a great start, but they were able to turn things around. It was the Jeremiah Smith show, as he once again showed why he is the best player in the country.

Smith was the best weapon on the field. He had 11 catches for 206 yards and two touchdowns. Of course, he had to have someone throw him the ball for all of those yards. Ryan Day had a comment about Julian Sayin throwing the ball into triple coverage while trying to find Smith.

Ryan Day playfully chides Julian Sayin for completing a pass in triple coverage

While Sayin had one of the best games he's had as a starter, Day didn't love throwing it into triple coverage to Smith on a play.

"What I didn't figure is that he was going to, Julian was going to throw into triple overage, and he still caught it for a big play. That was not a great read, but a ridiculous throw and a ridiculous catch."

Sayin has certainly made it an emphasis to get the ball to Smith as much as possible. He has been the focal point of the offense, and it has gone well so far. The Buckeyes have to figure out someone else whom they can get the ball to as well, although perhaps Smith proved that doesn't matter.

Day would prefer it if Sayin didn't throw the ball into triple coverage, even if Smith is on the receiving end of that. Ohio State should try to get him the ball as much as possible, but even throwing the ball in triple coverage to him might be a bit much. Day won't love it if he continues that.

Ohio State's passing game is still one of the best in the country

The Buckeyes are one of the best passing offenses in the country, even if they still don't have a reliable second receiver. Smith is good enough to carry the team to a national championship himself. Day loves that Sayin can fit it into tight windows, but it would still be great to not need him to do that.

This game was the start of a brutal schedule that Ohio State has in the Big Ten. Three of the next four games will see them take on ranked teams, which will really show how good this team is. Two of those games are on the road, as they still have to play Indiana and USC.

Ohio State moved up in the polls to fifth, which makes them the highest-ranked Big Ten team in the country. They are ranked ahead of IU, despite the fact that the Hoosiers are undefeated. Of course, IU beat the Buckeyes last year in the Big Ten Championship.

As long as Smith continues his incredible streak, there is no reason to think that Ohio State can't keep winning games. More than that, they should be able to dominate them.
