Ross Bjork messes with a major Ohio State tradition against Michigan

Ross Bjork is a very polarizing figure among Ohio State football fans. He did help with NIL fundraising to build the 2024 national championship team. However, he also has made some poor decisions, including messing with some beloved traditions. He continues to make questionable decisions at times.

Heading into the 2026 season, the Buckeyes have finally gotten the monkey off their back when it comes to beating TTUN. This year, they host the Wolverines on the final day of the regular season in what is usually Senior Day. Now, Bjork is changing that tradition, too.

Ohio State makes infuirating decision to put Senior Day on Week 1

For reasons that are inexplicable, the Ohio State Buckeyes are hosting Senior Day activities in Week 1 instead of the final week of the season. That means that the Seniors will be honored against Ball State instead of against Michigan, which is a punch in the face to fans.

Fans love rooting against Michigan. They love it even more on Senior Day because those players get a chance to beat TTUN one last time. While it isn't confirmed that Bjork made this decision, this has his stink written all over it. There's no way that Ryan Day would want this to happen.

Day was finally able to beat TTUN with his own players last season in Ann Arbor. You don't think he would want to do the same thing this year, except at home? This time, he would be able to honor the seniors who helped win a title in 2024 and finally take down TTUN.

Fans will certainly not be happy about this decision. Ball State is a juiceless game that will likely be a blowout by the time the first half is over. There's no sense in having the seniors honored at that time. This is another example of Bjork trying to be the smartest person in the room but having lost touch with the fans.

Bjork continues to have self-inflicted mistakes in his tenure as the athletic director. He finally acknowledged a mistake in song choice during Ohio State games, but now he's doubling down with his misplaced sense of power. Quite frankly, Day needs to step in and tell Bjork to back off.

It's highly unlikely that the seniors will love this change. Parents of the players might not like this change, either. All around, this decision seems like a gigantic L. Bjork keeps taking Ls, and this mistake likely won't be his last. However, fans will only take so many before they start calling for his head.

Messing with the Ohio State/Michigan game is something that fans will not tolerate. This is step one of Bjork's meddling. Any further action for this game will have him become the most hated athletic director since Andy Geiger, who suspended Maurice Clarett and essentially ended his college football career before it could truly take off. That's not company Bjork wants to keep.
