With 13 head coaches being fired so far during the 2025 football season, recruiting has seriously thrived for a lot of schools, like Ohio State, when it comes to flipping recruits. When a head coach is fired, it makes sense that those programs would lose recruits, as those players could have chosen to play for that head coach.
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has been flipping recruits left and right this season, and he is on the verge of flipping another one. The Florida Gators have been one team that fired their head coach, Billy Napier, and since then, recruits have certainly decided to venture elsewhere.
For four-star recruit CJ Bronaugh he has been committed to the Gators since midway through June, but this past weekend, he took an official visit to Ohio State, and by the looks of it, things went very well.
Thank you so much for the official visit! @OGWalt_ @ryandaytime @KieleyBronaugh @KWPRecruiting @bg9711 @ed_waz @Thermanbronaug1 @Corey_Bender @Andrew_Ivins @SWiltfong_ @CountyPolk @CoachSmith100 pic.twitter.com/nwEvhrdayV

Ryan Day is on the verge of flipping his 7th recruit this season
Since the start of the 2025 football season, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has been able to flip six recruits. These players include:
- Four-star safety Jay Timmons from Florida State
- Four-star EDGE Dre Quinn from Clemson
- Four-star defensive lineman Emanuel Ruffin from Colorado
- Four-star athlete Legend Bey from Tennessee
- Three-star safety Khmari Bing from Maryland
- Three-star interior offensive lineman Mason Wilhelm from UNC
Now, Day could be on the verge of flipping his seventh player this season with Florida commit CJ Bronaugh now on flip watch in favor of the Buckeyes.

Bronaugh would be a great addition to Day's already elite recruiting class for 2026. The Winter Garden, Florida, native is ranked as the No. 76 player nationally, the No. 6 cornerback in the Class of 2026, and the No. 8 player in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.
Bronaugh would be another stout player to add to Ohio State's already stifling defense as his size and speed make him a great defender. With Ohio State potentially losing lots of players on the defensive side of the ball to the NFL, Bronaugh would have a great spot in Matt Patricia's unit.
