Why Ohio State football fans should be concerned about top OL recruit

The Ohio State football team has been hoping to land a commitment from David Sanders Jr. Yet, he has not committed anywhere. Fans should start to be concerned.

The Ohio State football program has been very active on the recruiting trail in recent weeks. As we all know, they have the best recruiting class in the country. They now have 22 commitments and have the most five-star recruits of anyone in the country. No one has more than them.

And yet, the Buckeyes are still hunting for more. They lost out on a five-star recruit on the Fourth of July right after losing an in-state recruit that they had been focusing on for two years. It hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows for them this week for the 2025 class.

One player who remains a priority for them is David Sanders Jr. Sanders Jr. is the best offensive line recruit in the country and someone that the Ohio State football team has been locked in on for a while. He has been Justin Frye's top priority for the last couple of months.

Why Ohio State football fans should be concerned about David Sanders Jr.

Sanders Jr. visited the Buckeyes on the weekend of June 21st. It was a weekend that saw 12 prospects visit Columbus. Ohio State was hoping that he would make a commitment after that visit. Instead, he was silent. No commitment has been made by him yet.

It has now been a couple of weeks since that visit. He doesn't have any other official visits set up. He doesn't have a commitment date lined up either. So why hasn't he narrowed down his list yet? If he liked Ohio State so much, he would have committed directly after the visit.

I'm getting progressively more pessimistic about the Buckeyes' chances of being able to land Sanders Jr. Justin Frye hasn't shown an ability to be able to recruit at an elite level. He's never landed a five-star offensive line recruit since he was hired by Ohio State.

Sanders Jr. would be the best offensive line recruit the Buckeyes have had in years. Hopefully, they can actually land him.
