How the Ohio State football team should feel coming off a big recruiting weekend
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program had a huge recruiting weekend. They hosted 12 recruits, although some of them had already committed to the Buckeyes. Several four and five-star recruits were in Columbus for an official visit. It was perhaps the most important recruiting weekend of the year.
Coming out of the weekend, Ohio State was able to get two commitments. They landed a three-star offensive lineman and a four-star defensive lineman. Both of those players were visiting over the weekend and clearly liked what they saw enough to commit.
So out of the players who could commit, they landed two. Neither of the players who committed were the big fish that they were trying to seal up. While Cook is a good player on the offensive line, they were also hoping to be able to get David Sanders Jr., who is the top offensive line recruit in the country.
While he still could commit in the next few days, he still is predicted to pick Clemson. This was the final official visit that he had on the books. Should the Ohio State football program feel happy that they got a couple of commitments from the weekend? Or should they be wanting more?
I think they should be pleased with what they've done so far. They still have the best recruiting class in the country and it has only gotten better with these commitments. Two more solid recruits are always welcome, no matter what their recruiting ranking is.
Ohio State still has plenty of room for some upper-echelon talent for the 2025 recruiting class. There are even rumors that one more player who was on the visit this weekend could commit as soon as Monday evening. We'll have to see how it all plays out, but the Buckeyes like where they are at with this class.
