Where does the Ohio State football team stack up with the rest of the Big Ten?

Now that Spring football is over and camp season is about to start, it's a good time to take stock of the Big Ten Conference. Where does the Ohio State football program sit right now?

The Ohio State football team is done remaking their roster. They have made a great defense even better with the addition of Caleb Downs. On offense, they made an upgrade on offense with Will Howard coming in at quarterback, Quinshon Judkins at running back, and Seth McLaughlin on the offensive line.

Add in some impact freshmen and the Buckeyes look like they are one of the best teams in the country. But, this is the first year where the Big Ten is expanded to 18 teams. There are a lot of good programs that are now in the conference so it's not like Ohio State can just walk all over the other teams.

Now that Spring ball is done, how does the Ohio State football program stack up with the rest of the Big Ten? As of right now, they have to be considered the best team. They have the most talent and very well could be ranked second in the country right behind Georgia in the preseason polls.

Oregon is an extremely close second though. They come into the Big Ten with a lot of talent returning on the offensive side of the ball. They are also breaking in a new quarterback who is a transfer, so they are expected to be one of the best teams in the country too. There's a good chance they could be ranked third in the country behind the Buckeyes.

After those top two, it's hard to rank the rest of the Big Ten. I have Washington third and Michigan fourth. Both teams just played for a national championship but lost a ton of guys. Still, Michigan's offense and Washington's defense will be pretty good this year.

Penn State, USC, Iowa, and Wisconsin should round out the top half of the conference. None of them quite have the talent to challenge for the Big Ten Championship, but they are still solid teams. After that, it gets pretty dark in the conference. I think the worst team will likely be Northwestern.

Even if Ohio State doesn't win the Big Ten this year over Oregon, they should still make the College Football Playoff.
