The Ohio State football team is fresh off a big win at Michigan State. They took down the Spartans 38-7 in a game that wasn't close at any point. They had a 24-7 lead at halftime. Quite frankly, the only reason why the Spartans even scored a touchdown was because of a bad interception thrown by the Buckeyes.

Coming off that game, the Ohio State Buckeyes return home to take on Iowa. This is an Iowa team that looks a lot different than they have the last few years. This Hawkeyes team actually has a competent offense, unlike in 2022 when the Buckeyes blasted them 54-10.

What's better now is that Ohio State's offense has proven to be one of the better offenses in the country. They can score from pretty much anywhere on the field at any time. So what should the Bucekyes expect from Iowa in terms of their offensive gameplan?

What the Ohio State football team should expect from Iowa

Iowa has scored 30+ points in three of their first four games. The only time they didn't was a 20-19 loss in a rivalry game to Iowa State. They are a lot more potent on offense thanks to Cade McNamara, the Michigan transfer. He has 588 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions to his credit so far.

The Hawkeyes can still tote the rock, which Ohio State has had some issues stopping. Kaleb Johnson has 685 yards and nine touchdowns on 82 carries, good enough for 8.4 yards per carry. Stopping him is going to be the key for the Buckeyes to avoid an upset.

Will Howard needs to tighten up his decision-making a bit too. The interception he threw was horrendous, and he should have thrown another one. This offense has playmakers all over the field. He just needs to make the easy decision and let the receivers do the rest.

This is the best defense Ohio State has faced so far. Iowa is a top-20 defense in terms of yardage allowed. It's going to be a good tune-up before heading to Eugene in a couple of weeks.
