The Ohio State football team has started Fall practice officially. They are in the process of getting ready for the upcoming season. There are still battles to be waged over who will be the starter at certain positions. The offensive line will have the most consequential positional battles.

One spot that is not up for debate is who are the top two receivers heading into the season. Emeka Egbuka is the undisputed number-one receiver. He's likely going to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He's not the only great receiver the Buckeyes have though.

Carnell Tate is going to be the number two guy. He's a former five-star recruit and someone that Ryan Day praised after the first day of practice. Another guy in that room is already getting first-team reps as a true freshman and could already be one of the best offensive players.

Jeremiah Smith is already getting starter's reps for the Ohio State football team

Freshman Jeremiah Smith was seen getting starter's reps during the first practice of the year. Of course, it's just the first practice of Fall camp, but that's still notable. Smith was seen as good enough by the coaches in the Spring that they wanted him out there with the first-stringers.

Smith has arrived in Columbus as one of the most hyped recruits in the history of Ohio State football. It's going to be hard for him to live up to the borderline unrealistic expectations that are being heaped on him. Smith is a physical freak, but he can only do so much.

The other half of that is Will Howard making sure he can get him the ball. Howard should be better at that than Kyle McCord was last season. As a receiver, Smith can only make plays when he gets the ball thrown to him in the right spots.

Smith is going to be one of the best receivers to come into Columbus in a while, and that's saying something.
