The Ohio State football team has started its preparations for the 2024 college football season. Fall camp started on Thursday and the Buckeyes are hard at work already. They know the kind of pressure that surrounds them and they are ready to live up to the hype.

Ryan Day knows how hard his team has worked in the offseason in anticipation of Fall camp. That's when starters are decided and the depth chart will be fully figured out. Day was speaking to reporters and two specific Ohio State football players were on his mind.

Both of them are receivers. The Buckeyes will have a bigger role for Carnell Tate after he was a limited contributor as a freshman last season. He was one of the receivers praised by Day. Day specifically talked about how much he's improved from last season into this year.

The other receiver that Day talked about was true freshman Jeremiah Smith. Smith is perhaps the most hyped-up Ohio State football player in recent history. Day didn't tamper that one bit with what he was saying. He had this to say about Smith specifically.

"He had a great offseason. He did some things some freshmen haven't done before in terms of recognition. We are excited he's out there every day. We are all excited about it. He's got a very bright future ahead of him."

That's some pretty big talk about a freshman receiver who hasn't seen a single snap of college football. During the first day of camp, he was out there with the starters. He is one of the best skill players on the team already. That's scary for the teams who will face the Buckeyes this year.

The Ohio State football team will have to keep getting better as the season gets closer. The offense is going to be the focal point. While there are still questions that need to be answered, this team is still one of the most talented teams in the country.
