This unit is the most talented group on the Ohio State football team
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team has a lot of great players on the roster. There's a reason that they are the second-ranked team in the country. It's a great team on both the offensive side and the defensive side of the ball. It's tough to figure out which unit is actually the best.
Receivers at Ohio State have always been one of the top players in the country. In fact, they are usually one of the best group of receivers in the country. Usually, that's the correct answer to this question. While they are great this year, there are some other great units on this team.
The running backs have a strong case this year. TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins might be the best duo of backs in the country. The difference is that there are just two of them and there is no depth behind them. That's why the answer could be in the secondary.
The Ohio State football team's best unit might be the secondary
In the secondary, the Buckeyes have perhaps the best safety in the country in Caleb Downs. His addition to the secondary might make this the best secondary in the nation. He can fly around and cover one end of the field to the other. He can also come up and help in the run game.
Denzel Burke has the potential to be an All-American this season at corner. Lathan Ransom was already an All-Big Ten performer at safety and now with Downs at the other safety spot, he will be even better. Davison Igbinosun is the most physical corner the Buckeyes have and is great in press coverage.
With the depth up and down that room, including a great player in Jermaine Mathews Jr who doesn't even start, the secondary is the best unit the Ohio State Buckeyes have. It's the best secondary Ryan Day has ever had.
