The Ohio State football team proves they are a great offense
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team had questions surrounding the offense heading into the year. A new quarterback for the third straight year had many people wondering if the Buckeyes were going to be good enough on that side of the ball to truly contend for a national championship.
We are now five games into the season, and those worries have officially been put to bed. After the Ohio State Buckeyes took it to Iowa, the offense showed who they truly are. They are an elite offense that can beat you any way they want in a particular game.
A 35-7 victory over Iowa taught us a lot about these Buckeyes. Iowa had a top-20 defense and a top-four rushing defense heading into this clash. Questions were raised about how well the Buckeyes could run it against the Hawkeyes. All the Buckeyes did was run for 203 yards.
The Ohio State football team has an elite offense
Will Howard threw for four touchdowns and 209 yards against this vaunted Iowa defense. Emeka Egbuka caught three of them. There's just no stopping this offense when they have as many weapons as they do this season. Carnell Tate didn't even play in this one either.
Ohio State is 9th in total yards per game, 14th in rushing yards per game, and fourth in points per game. Quite frankly, they are proving to be quite unstoppable. Pairing that with a defense that is in the top five in every major category yet again, and the Buckeyes have proven they are one of the best teams in the country.
Now that this trap game is in the rearview mirror, the Ohio State football team takes on Oregon. It is going to be a night game in Autzen Stadium, and it will be the toughest game they play all year. It's good to have an offense that is is rolling like this heading into that game.
