The transfer portal closes today and there has been a lot of activity around it. The Buckeyes haven't lost a lot of members from the roster this Spring, but they have in the last couple of days. They just lost a safety as well as a backup offensive lineman. Those depth pieces are important.

Ohio State has now lost another player to the transfer portal right before it closes. They have lost linebacker Nigel Glover, who was in the 2023 recruiting class. Glover was a four-star prospect and was the seventh-rated player in the state of Ohio when he came out of high school.

Looking at the depth chart around him, he clearly didn't think that he was going to see a lot of playing time. He certainly wasn't going to this year. Cody Simon, C.J. Hicks. and Sonny Styles. Styles is moving to linebacker after Caleb Downs transferred in to make room fo rhim.

Glover was a backup linebacker who didn't have a track for playing time, especially with three more linebackers in the 2025 recruiting class coming on. It's better for him to search for another program to see if he can earn playing time. He's going to have to work for it.

With Glover now heading into the transfer portal, that makes the Buckeyes down six players since the Spring window opened. That's about the amount we expected to enter the portal when it first opened. None of the guys are players that would have started for the Ohio State football program this year.

Glover is likely to move to a G5 program at this point. He still has plenty of time for his career to take off at another school. The Buckeyes need room in the linebacker room for next season. We wish Glover the best of luck wherever his next stop is.
