The Ohio State football program is in the midst of putting together the best secondary class in the history of the team. The recruits they have for the 2025 class are stunning. Already, they have the top two corners in the country as well as two three-star safeties.

On Sunday, the Buckeyes added another great player in the secondary. They got a commitment from Faheem Delane, who is listed as the second-best safety in the country. He is a four-star recruit from Maryland that chose the Buckeyes over Alabama, Auburn, and a host of other schools.

Delane can do it all. He can cover, stop the run, and blitz. He has good size at 6'2.5 and 195 pounds. Because of that size, he's able to make those big hits in the running game. He now joins a loaded Ohio State secondary and has catapulted the entire recruiting class.

Now that the Ohio State football program has landed Delane, they have the top recruiting class in the country. They leapfrogged Notre Dame for that top spot. They have never finished the year with a recruiting national championship. The closest they got was back in 2021 when they finished second.

Ohio State has a chance to add even more talent in the secondary too. There are still some high-level corners that have the Buckeyes towards the top of their list. Of course, the Buckeyes will likely now focus on the offensive side of the ball for the rest of the recruiting class.

Delane probably won't play much next season and has a good chance to redshirt. After that, he has a chance to fight for some playing time. The Buckeyes have a lot of talent at the safety position, so playing time is never given. It is earned.

This class is shaping up to be the best in school history. If they can keep up the momentum and get some of the big fish they are looking at, it can stay that way.
