The Ohio State football team is still the strongest team in the Big Ten

After all of the Week 1 games, it's clear the Ohio State football team is still the best team in the conference.

The Ohio State football team took down Akron 52-6 in Week 1. It's not surprising that the Buckeyes were able to win by so much. Even though they didn't cover, they still looked good. That's especially true in the second half when they really started to turn it on.

Ohio State is the favorite to win the Big Ten considering they are the second-ranked team in the country. Looking at the roster on both sides of the ball, it makes sense. Ohio State could be the most talented team in the country on paper. But as we know, the games aren't played on paper.

The Buckeyes showed that they are still the best team in the Big Ten after their big win. They were able to do something that a lot of other Big Ten teams weren't able to do; look good. The only other teams to look good in their opening wins were USC and Iowa.

Oregon only beat Idaho by ten and scored just 24 points. Wisconsin struggled with Western Michigan, whom the Buckeyes play this weekend. Michigan didn't have the game against Fresno State sealed up until the final drive of the game. A lot of teams struggled.

Iowa and USC were the only other Big Ten teams to show that they were ready for the start of the season. Iowa somehow accumulated 462 yards of total offense. USC beat LSU in Las Vegas and showed an improved defense in doing so. Both of those teams improved their CFP chances.

Still, the Buckeyes are clearly the class of the conference. Seeing how good the defense played throughout the entire game and how the offense looked in the second half, this is clearly a team that is capable of not just winning the Big Ten but the national championship.
