The Ohio State basketball team was expected to lose a handful of guys to the transfer portal this Spring. With how the portal operates these days, that's almost automatic. Players go somewhere else in pursuit of either more playing time or higher NIL opportunities.

So far, the Buckeyes have just lost two guys. Dallan Hayden entered the portal thanks to Tony Alford's mismanagement. He might have seen some playing time this year. The Buckeyes also saw freshman cornerback Cedrick Hawkins head to UCF in search of more opportunities.

Other than that, the Ohio State football team seems to be staying together. A lot of fans are surprised that more players haven't jumped into the portal. They have until the end of the month to do so, so the Buckeyes aren't out of the woods yet. It seems that most of these guys are rallying together.

The Buckeyes will keep their depth into the Fall at most of their positions. Personally, I keep waiting for one of the quarterbacks to transfer out. I think I should just stop because, at this point, it's not going to happen. All of those guys are locked in for the competition both this year and next year.

Ohio State is ready to go and win a lot of games. We'll see if the Buckeyes decide to go out and grab a player or two from the portal. The problem with no one leaving in the portal is that they can't add players from the portal themselves. It's a matter of roster numbers.

This is a great team and it's clear that the guys who might not even see a lot of snaps are committed to being a part of the ride. Now it's up to them to keep improving and make the ride something worth going on.
