The Ohio State football team has some insanely fast quarterbacks

All of the Ohio State football team's quarterbacks are fast, but one of them is absurdly fast for his size.

The Ohio State football team has had its fair share of athletic quarterbacks. Justin Fields, J.T. Barrett, and Braxton Miller are just some of the guys who they've had that could move. All of those guys were threats to run in a scramble drill or on a designed quarterback run.

In the room now, the Buckeyes have four guys who can run the ball if needed. All of the quarterbacks in the room have the capability to run read-option plays. One of them is faster than the rest, and it's absurd based on how big of a man he is. He's going to give defenders headaches.

Chip Kelly mentioned that all of the quarterbacks have run in excess of 20 mph in the offseason. That's pretty fast for those guys. Only one quarterback was the fastest though. That crown goes to the presumptive starter Will Howard, who ran 22 mph at 6'4 and 235 pounds.

Will Howard shows off his impressive wheels for the Ohio State football team

Howard used his legs a lot while he was at Kansas State. It's clearly a big part of his game and he said as much when he was interviewed after practice. Kelly hasn't made it a secret that the quarterback is going to be a bigger part of the running game than it has been in the last three seasons.

The good thing is that Howard knows he doesn't have to be the hero. He knows that the weapons around him are deadly and all he has to do is get the ball out of his hands to let those guys make plays. As a senior with multiple years of starting experience, he knows he has to just take care of the ball.

The Buckeyes haven't officially named a starter yet, but will likely name Howard the starter soon. He's taken most of the first-team reps in practice and has more experience than everyone else in the quarterback room combined. It makes sense for him to be the guy leading the team.

Ohio State football fans are going to love seeing Howard keep the ball on some scrambles. He's going to get a lot of yards doing that this year.
