The Ohio State football team had an impressive team GPA

On Wednesday, Ohio State announced that Ryan Day would be receiving a $50,000 bonus for the Buckeyes working in the classroom. They have a team GPA of 3.24 for the 2023-2024 season. They is very good for all the players, this also shows how disciplined all the coaches are with keeping the players in check.
This, from Patrick Murphy of Bucknuts:
"The Buckeyes achieved a collective 3.24 grade point average over the prior academic year, earning Day a $50,000 bonus, an Ohio State spokesperson confirmed to Bucknuts. According to Day's contract, which he signed in May 2022, the Ohio State head coach received a $50,000 bonus if the team's cumulative grade point average is a 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. If the Buckeyes achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher, Day receives $100,000. A 3.5 or higher team grade point average results in a $150,000 bonus for Day."
During the season Texas had announced that they held the highest semester team GPA in team history, which was a 2.89. Ohio State has clearly been focused in keeping a team that all about getting done what needs to get done.
It's nice to see the Ohio State football team not just have excellence on the field, but also in the classroom. The Buckeyes have done a good job of not just staying eligible but exceeding expectations. Day gets a nice pay-bump from this as well.
Day is hoping that his roster can do the same thing this year, while also winning big on the field. This team is built for a national championship run. They need to make sure that they win the key games on their schedule. That would be Oregon, Penn State, and Michigan. Those are the toughest games on the schedule.
