The Ohio State football team better win the National Championship this year
By Tyler Lyman
Let's review the team Ohio State has made for the 2024 season.
Quarterbacks: Transfer from Kansas St. Will Howard, 5-star Julian Sayin, 5-star Air Noland, and Devin Brown.
Running Backs: Transfer from Ole Miss Quinshon Judkins, TreVeyon Henderson, and Dallan Hayden.
Wide Receivers: Kojo Antwi, Jayden Ballard, Emeka Egbuka, Kyion Grayes, Brandon Inniss, Bryson Rodgers, Carnell Tate, Jeremiah Smith, and Mylan Graham.
Defensive Linemen: Jack Sawyer, Ty Hamilton, Tyleik Williams, and J.T. Tuimoloau.
Linebackers: Sonny Styles, Cody Simons, Kourt Williams ||, and C.J Hicks
Defensive Backs: Denzel Burke, Lathan Ransom, transfer from Alabama Caleb Downs, Davison Igbinosun, and Jordon Hancock.
It's clear that they have a really good team built, and should be the frontrunner for the national championship. They have also made some changes for coaching, Ryan Day has given up play-calling to Chip Kelly who was hired after Bill O'Brien left. Then Tony Alford left for Ann Arbor.
The Buckeyes also have been changing the culture of their program, making the Championship the new standard. They had Jeremiah Smith, a freshman, lost his black stripe in just a couple of practices, one of the fastest to happen. Then Caleb Downs and Quinshon Judkins got theirs removed in a very fast time too.
Also, they have a fairly easy schedule only really having to play Oregon late in the season and Michigan. The Ohio State football team should not just win the Big Ten Championship, they should be able to put in their backups for every game they play.
If Ryan Day were to find a way to not even make the Championship this year, it would be as clear as the sky on a sunny day to get rid of him. He's built one of the best teams I have seen since probably 2019 LSU with Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, and Justin Jefferson. Also, Ohio State would become one of the biggest laugh stocks for the whole college football.
Ohio State has been changing their team into one of the best in the history of College Football, but if they roll over every team they beat and don't at least make it far in the new playoff system it's obvious Ryan Day was the problem.
