The Ohio State football program stayed resilient and it's paying off

After a horrible finish to the 2023 season, the Ohio State football program could have taken a major step back. Instead, they stayed resilient and have seen things improve before Spring ball arrives in 2024.

The end of the 2023 season was about as bad as you could draw it up for the Ohio State football program. They lost their third consecutive game to Michigan and then scored a measly three points against Missouri in the Cotton Bowl. It's hard to imagine things getting much worse.

Then the Buckeyes had a rash of transfers to deal with too. They lost their starting quarterback, a solid receiver, and a number of depth pieces. Things didn't look too great. It would have been easy for those around the program to just throw in the towel on a bad year.

Instead, the Ohio State football program stayed resilient at the end of the year. They worked the transfer portal to upgrade at quarterback, get better on the offensive line, and get a great safety. On the recruiting front, they added a good piece on the defensive line.

So instead of heading into 2024 reeling, the Buckeyes are coming in with a massive amount of momentum. With things seemingly getting easier in the Big Ten, the Buckeyes should be one of the favorites to win the conference, along with Oregon.

Quite frankly, the Buckeyes should be one of the favorites to win the national championship. They are loaded on defense and have improved in important spots on offense. They are going all in this year. Ryan Day knows he doesn't have time to wait. He needs to win big right now.

We'll see what the Buckeyes look like once the Spring rolls around. There will be some interesting position battles that will be critical to the success to the team as a whole. I'm sure the Buckeyes will be active in the portal again once the Spring window opens too.
