The Latest Updates on Ohio State's Men's and Women's Track and Field

Two freshmen ran the fastest times in their event, Braxton Brann in the 200m at 20.69, and Mason Louis in the 400m at 45.89 for Ohio State. It wasn't just the fastest time for the Buckeyes, it was the fastest time for anyone in the country.

Then Leah Bertrand ran a 7.37 in the women's 60m semifinals at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

We also have some Buckeyes breaking some of their personal records in the field. At shot put, Riedinger got 17.88 m and Watson got 20.40 m at weight throw. Edward got 5.03 m in the pole vault, Kaminski got 2.01 m in the high jump, in the triple jump Kellon got 14.44 m, and Fillmore in the long jump 7.69.

Even more Buckeyes broke their PRs in women's track. Effiong (7.33), Conde (7.43), and Bryant (7.61) all broke theirs in the 60m. Then Spencer (8.19), Powell (8.23), and Ruffner (8.68) broke theirs in the 60 m hurdles. Conde (24.00) and Bryant (24.66) broke their PRs in the 200 m as well. Murphy broke hers in 400m at 52.69. And then in the 800m Mosley (2:04.29) and C. Napoleon (2:08.18) broke theirs.

Finally one more group, men's track. Several Ohio State runners broke their PRs, 60m Brown (6.75) and Biega (6.90), and 60m hurdles Brann (7.71). 200m Brann (20.69), John (21.12), Fillmore (21.55), and Biega (21.61), 400m Louis (45.89) Carmichael (46.87), and 600m Eckert (1:18.45). 800m Citro(1:53.79) and in 3000m J. Agnew (8:26.38).

The official Ohio State Buckeyes website posted the schedule back in December and here's what's left, "The Buckeyes' outdoor season starts at South Florida (March 15-16) and continues with a pair of relays on March 28-30 (Texas Relays and Raleigh Relays) to end the month. Ohio State also travels to South Carolina (April 6), Florida (April 12-13), and Azuza Pacific (April 12-13) before hosting the annual Jesse Owens Classic (April 19-20). The regular season wraps up at the Penn Relays (April 25-27)."

All of our track and field athletes have been doing great work lately, and we can't wait to see what else they can do in the Outdoor season. This is similar to the tennis team, which won a national championship in the indoor part of the year.
