The Ohio State basketball program is rebuilding itself. Jake Diebler knows that missing the NCAA Tournament is unacceptable. They have done that in each of the last two seasons. It's the reason why Chris Holtmann is no longer the head coach and Diebler is the man.

Ohio State has too many resources as an athletic department to let something like that happen on a regular basis. Their facilities are too good, the tradition is too storied, and the talent on the roster is too good. Diebler wants more though. He doesn't just want NCAA Tournament appearances. He wants to make Final Fours.

In order to do that, they need to increase the amount of talent they have. While the talent is solid right now, it's not Final Four caliber. The Buckeyes are on someone's radar who has Final Four talent because he's the son of an NBA legend and a future Hall of Famer.

Kiyan Anthony has the Ohio State basketball program in his final six

Kiyan Anthony, the son of Carmelo Anthony, has released his final six schools. The Buckeyes have made the cut. He has Ohio State, Florida State, Auburn, Syracuse, Rutgers and USC. As you can tell, there is no geographic region that he is married to. Anthony just wants the best fit.

Anthony is a four-star shooting guard out of Long Island and has a sweet shooting stroke. At 6'5, he has the ideal size for that position as well and should be a good defender with his length. He's exactly the kind of player that Diebler is looking for to improve the Ohio State basketball team.

Anthony is going to set up a visit to Columbus to check out campus and learn what his role would be within Ohio State. Right now, Diebler has just one recruit for the 2025 recruiting class. Adding Anthony would really help them build that top-level talent they want to consistently have.
