The Ohio State football team is embracing the expectations for the upcoming season. They are one of the top contenders to win a national championship. They improved the roster on both sides of the ball and have brought in Chip Kelly to run the offense. A lot is expected of the team.

While they have big expectations, they still have some things that they need to figure things out. They don't have the offensive line completely figured out yet. The left side of the line is already set with Josh Simmons and Donovan Jackson at tackle and guard respectively.

Ryan Day hasn't named a starter anywhere else yet, although Josh Fryar seems locked in at right guard. Center and right guard are still up in the air. When asked about it at Big Ten Media Day, Day mentioned a few people who could be in the mix for the job.

When asked who might start at right guard, Day mentioned that Seth McLaughlin and Carson Hinzman could switch between center and right guard. He also mentioned Tegra Tshabola and Luke Montgomery are also in the mix at that position. So in essence, he didn't answer the question at all.

It's not unexpected for him to side-step the question. He wants to see how each of these guys look in Fall camp once they get in. He won't be naming starters until they are deeper into Fall practice anyway, including at quarterback. It's never been his policy to name starters early.

If I had to guess who will be the right guard, I would say it's going to be Hinzman. It's his natural position and it allows McLaughlin to focus on center. He's better than Tshabola at this point, although I do like what Montgomery can bring to the table. He should start next year at tackle.

Day didn't have much time to talk, but he isn't shying away from the big expectations around this team. He knows that this team will go as far as the offensive line takes them. That's why he needs to make sure he makes the right decisions up front.
