The Ohio State football team signed most of its 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday. They had a bit of an up-and-down day, having one recruit flip to Oregon while also keeping one from flipping to Alabama. Ryan Day was clearly worried about Ohio State's top recruit flipping.

That recruit is number one overall recruit Jeremiah Smith. Smith is a wide receiver from Florida who was being approached by a number of schools in Florida to flip his commitment. In fact, Smith mentioned that NIL money was flying at him very quickly to do just that.

In the end, Smith decided to sign with the Buckeyes. He announced his decision while Day was doing his press conference talking about the 2024 recruiting class. His presser was interrupted by Mark Pantoni to tell him about the signing. Day's reaction is priceless.

As you can see, Smith's decision was clearly weighing on Day. In the day and age of NIL, you never know who could flip. Nothing is certain until that NLI comes in. Day was glad to keep ahold of the best recruit in the country, which is always a great way to keep a class together.

The Ohio State football program now has the guys that they will build the future with. Smith is just one of the great recruits that the Buckeyes have in this class. Now it's up to the coaches to develop them and put them in a position to succeed once they step foot in Columbus.

Signing Day is crazy and we will keep you updated all day with news if anything else happens. While most of Ohio State's work is done for the day, there are still a few positive things that could happen for the Buckeyes. We'll just have to wait and see if that happens or not.
