One Ohio State football player has a chance to leave a legacy
By Tyler Lyman
Last season, Emeka Egbuka's year with the Ohio State football team was ruined because of an ankle injury. He will be starting as the WR1 in 2024. Currently, there's a lot of hype surrounding him and what he could do this season after what he showed a couple of years ago.
When he's healthy, Emeka Egbuka is a beast on the field. In 2022 he was able to get 74 receptions, 1,151 yards, and 10 TDs. However, in 2023 he only got 41 receptions, 4 touchdowns, and 515 yards. The ankle injury really slowed him down and kept him from his peak performance.
In 2024, he has a real chance to become one of the greatest in history for the Buckeyes. He is 890 receiving yards away from breaking Michael Jenkins's record for most in Ohio State history. Then he could also break K.J. Hill's receptions record by getting 78 receptions in 2024.
As far as stats go, he really could become one of the greatest receivers in Ohio State football history. Right now, he is a huge leader in a very talented Ohio State receiver room. On a Big Ten Media Day, he talked about all the expectations and standards he holds each receiver to.
There are a lot of good things for Emeka Egbuka that could happen for him in 2024. It's possible for him to join a conservation about being one of the best in OSU history. He just has to stay healthy first.
In order for Egbuka to accomplish those things, he needs a quarterback to get him the ball. He has all of the physical skills and talent in order to get that record. Will Howard needs to be able to get everyone the ball on the outside because he has a lot of receivers this season.
