The Ohio State women's basketball team is a two-seed in the NCAA Tournament. They are looking to make the Final Four after coming one game short of that a year ago. It's still a hard path for the Buckeyes to get there, especially with the side of the bracket they find themselves on.

While the Ohio State women's basketball team was able to avoid South Carolina's side of the bracket, they still have to contend with UConn and Virginia Tech. Ohio State was able to end UConn's Final Four streak a year ago but fell to Virginia Tech in the Elite Eight.

Ohio State starts off playing 15-seed Maine on Friday at noon on ESPN. If they win that game, they will take on the winner of Duke and Richmond, Ohio State is hosting that Maine game and would host that second round game as well, assuming they beat Maine.

The top seed on Ohio State's side is USC, a team that beat the Buckeyes in the first game of the season, Both teams are different at this point in the year though, so that would be a big-time rematch if it were to get to that point. That's a potential Elite Eight matchup.

Ohio State hasn't played in a while. It'll be just over two weeks since the last time they've played by the time that Friday rolls around. Ohio State has lost two straight games though, so they aren't coming in hot. In fact, they got destroyed by Maryland in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.

Kevin McGuff should have his team better prepared to play this time. It's time for this team to lock in and win big. A lot of these ladies leave after this season, so this would be the year to win a national championship. They are certainly talented enough to do so.
