Ohio State football transfer not doing well for rival Big Ten foe
By Ryan Stano
The transfer portal has changed the dynamic of how college football operates. New players are able to come and go every year. The Ohio State football team has taken advantage of that this year by adding difference-makers like Caleb Downs, Quinshon Judkins, and Seth McLaughlin.
When that many guys come in, some guys have to leae to open up a roster spot. One of those guys who decided to leave in the offseason is Julian Fleming. Fleming was the former number-one recruit in the country when he decided to join the Buckeyes.
Unfortunately, injuries robbed Fleming of having any sort of real impact with the Buckeyes. In four years with Ohio State, he never played a full season. His best year was back in 2022 when he had 533 yards and six touchdowns. Last season, he regressed and decided to leave. It hasn't gone well so far.

In the offseason, Fleming decided to transfer elsewhere in pursuit of more playing time. You can't really blame him considering how good Jeremiah Smith already is. Fleming knew he wasn't going to get a lot of time, even with Marvin Harrison Jr. moving on to the NFL.
Fleming decided to transfer closer to home and head to Penn State. It's early in the season, but things have not gone well for him. In two games, he has just one catch for three yards. It's not like Penn State hasn't been scoring points either. They have put up 34 points in each of their first two games.
As much as I dislike Penn State, Fleming was an awesome dude while he was with the Buckeyes. Injuries robbed him of what could have been a stellar career. I hope he's able to put up better numbers in the final year of his career.
