The Ohio State football program has the second-best recruit in the country for the 2025 class in quarterback Tavien St. Clair. He's trying to see if he can make the jump to number one overall. In order to do that, he has to pass the only other recruit ahead of him.

That is quarterback Bryce Underwood. Underwood has been rated as the top recruit in the country for a while now. He is from the state of Michigan and has been committed to LSU for a long time. He's not in danger of flipping anywhere else before Signing Day rolls around.

Despite being from the state of Michigan, he never really considered going to Michigan. St. Clair is from Bellefontaine, Ohio and Ryan Day made sure the Ohio State football program wasn't going to lose him. They invested in him early when he was just a three-star recruit.

Underwood never gave the same consideration to his in-state school. When asked why, he gave a hilarious answer.

The fact that Underwood didn't even consider looking at Michigan is hilarious. He cites their lack of tradition in developing quarterbacks for the NFL. He doesn't even give them credit for Tom Brady. J.J. McCarthy this past season is the lone first-round guy they have in the last 30+ years.

Underwood would rather go to an SEC program that has a pretty decent track record of developing quarterbacks in the modern era. Ohio State football fans have to be happy that he didn't even think for one second about attending Michigan. The fewer good players for them, the better.

Only time will tell if Underwood ends up being as good as advertised. It'll be interesting to see whether he or St. Clair ends up being the better quarterback in college and at the next level.
