Ohio State football team will improve on a recruiting class that's already the best
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program did a lot of great recruiting work for the 2025 class early. They locked up some of the best players in the country, getting the top two corners in the country and the second-best quarterback in the country. All of those prospects are five-star recruits.
With landing those prospects, the Buckeyes had the second-best recruiting class in the country for a while. After landing another recruit on Sunday, they now have the best recruiting class in the country. This is despite the fact that they only have 14 recruits in the class so far.
That number is what makes things so scary for other programs across the country. They still have plenty of room in the class to improve it. This class is only half full right now. It's going to be a big class with all of the players who are leaving after this season too.
Ohio State might not even be done grabbing five-star players. They still have a shot to land some five-star receivers. They aren't out of it for a five-star offensive lineman either. In general, they will likely be more focused on the offensive side of the ball to fill out the class.
The best way for a team to replace a bunch of really good players who are leaving is to recruit like this. Ryan Day is doing a great job on the recruiting trail to lessen the blow of losing guys like J.T. Tuimoloau, Jack Sawyer, and Emeka Egbuka when the season ends.
June should be a month where the Ohio State football team gets a handful of commitments. We should see some more as more recruits take official visits to Columbus and as more camps happen. The Buckeyes are going to keep crushing it on the recruiting trail.
