The Ohio State football team has won two games this season in impressive fashion. They are one of the best teams in the country. They were expected to win their games in dominating fashion. So far this season, they're one of the few to dominate the inferior teams that they have faced.

Last week, that made them fall in the polls to three. They were ranked second up until that point. Texas jumped them in the polls after their big win against Michigan, which was expected. What was not expected was that the Buckeyes were going to stay in third this week in the polls.

That's because Georgia struggled mightily with Kentucky. This is a Kentucky team that is now 1-2 on the season and couldn't even muster a touchdown against the Bulldogs. Georgia only beat them by one point in a 13-12 dogfight. It was not an impressive win.

The Ohio State football team stays at third in the polls

Ohio State has not struggled at any point this season other than the first quarter against Akron. Since then, it has been smooth sailing. I would have thought that this would have been good enough to allow them to jump Georgia despite the Bulldogs' win over Clemson.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are the favorites to win the Big Ten at this point. They were to start the season and nothing that has happened so far has changed that. All of the other Big Ten teams have looked poor except USC. The Trojans have a chance to be the second-best team in the conference.

It's surprising that the Buckeyes don't get a bump to at least two in the polls this week, even though they have an argument to be the number-one team. Still, what matters is the ranking at the end of the season, not what it is heading into Week 4. Ryan Day's team knows that.
