The Ohio State football team doesn't have a running backs coach right now. Tony Alford decided to leave the Buckeyes to head to Michigan. They have been giving interviews over the past few weeks. While they are expected to hire a coach by the end of the week, recruiting is still going on.

Ryan Day has been running the meetings in the running back room while the Buckeyes are still searching for a full-time coach. Despite not having a coach for those guys, Ohio State is now predicted to and a four-star running back from California.

According to ON3's Steve Wiltfong, the Buckeyes are now projected to land four-star running back Jordon Davison. Davison is out of Mater Dai High School in California. The Buckeyes would be adding another member to their 2025 recruiting class after having a great weekend of recruiting.

Davison is 5'11 and 203 pounds and runs with authority. Despite his big size, he still has a lot of speed to him. He can hit the home run and also get the medium-range yards that running backs need to get to keep a team ahead of the sticks. Those are the yards that can lead to wins. He's a solid prospect.

I find it interesting that Davison is now projected to head to Ohio State without the running backs having a coach yet. Perhaps he just likes Chip Kelly and Ryan Day that much. We know that Kelly is going to turn this team into a much more potent team on the ground this season.

While Davison is projected to head to Columbus, there is no indication as to when he might make a commitment announcement. We also know that there is still a lot of time between now and Signing Day, so things can certainly change.

The Buckeyes have been on fire on the recruiting trail recently. Let's hope that the heat keeps up.
