Ohio State football team has a real shot to steal five-star WR after de-commitment
By Ryan Stano
We know that Brian Hartline is the best recruiter employed by the Ohio State football program. In fact, he could be the best recruiter in the entire country. He brings in wide receiver talent year after year. The Buckeyes don't rebuild at that position, they reload thanks to him.
Hartline has yet to land a five-star recruit in this class. In fact, he's yet to land a receiver recruit at all. He had one recruit name the Buckeyes in his final four, but no solid commitments yet. That could change soon and Ohio State could get a commitment from a five-star receiver.
The Buckeyes hosted five-star receiver Dakorien Moore a couple of weeks ago on a visit. The five-star recruit had been committed to LSU at the time. He has another visit scheduled with the Buckeyes at the end of the month. The difference is he's no longer committed to LSU.
Moore has now opened up his recruitment after de-committing from LSU. The next visit he has scheduled is that visit to Columbus on the final day of May, so Ohio State has the first crack at him. The Ohio State football program would be ecstatic to land a player of his caliber.
Not only is Moore the best receiver in this class, but he's the third-best player overall. He's pretty close to the caliber of Jeremiah Smith, and we've seen flashes of how good he is. Adding Moore would give the Buckeyes yet another weapon to throw to for a crop of young quarterbacks next year.
While Moore is projected to go to Texas now, that can still change. Hartline is the best in the business for a reason. Ryan Day and Chip Kelly are going to give him a heck of a pitch when he's on campus too. I like Ohio State's chances.
