The Ohio State football team has one of the best recruiting classes in the country. They have a shot to have one of the best recruiting classes in school history. A large part of that is because of the commitments they've been able to garner from the secondary.

Right now, the Buckeyes have the top two cornerbacks in the country. Both are five-star recruits and are solid players. They had three commitments from the cornerback position for a while. Now, they just have two because one of them has decided to de-commit.

Blake Woodby, the lowest-ranked of the cornerback recruits, has decided to de-commit from the Ohio State football team. He is a four-star recruit and had been committed to the Buckeyes since October of last year. Now, he's decided to go elsewhere.

Woodby is visiting Florida right now, so perhaps that's why he is no longer considering Ohio State. Maybe they gave him a big NIL deal and he decided that was a better move. Perhaps he didn't want to deal with all of the competition at that position.

With Woodby de-committing, that opens the door for other corners to go to Ohio State. In fact, they are already projected to land another five-star corner. Perhaps that's another reason why Woodby de-commited. Dorian Brew would be another guy to fight with from this class if he does indeed decide to go to Ohio State.

Ohio State now only has 12 commitments for the 2025 recruiting class. That number is surely going to rise once camp season ramps up in June. That will help them get a firmer grasp of how large this recruiting class is going to be. Woodby just won't be a part of it.

We wish Woodby nothing but the best. This is why nothing is set in stone until a recruit sends in their NLI. A lot of things can change.
