Ohio State football recruit has a huge game in first high school game of the year
By Ryan Stano
Friday night was the first night of high school football all across Ohio. Teams started their dreams of winning a state championship across the state on a beautiful night for football. The best high school player in the country plays in Ohio and is an Ohio State football recruit.
That player is Tavien St. Clair out of Bellefontaine High School. The quarterback is looking to finish his high school career with a state title, something that will be very hard to do. Bellefontaine is a smaller school and they will have to play some powerhouses to win a title.
St. Clair was named the top recruit in the country a few weeks ago. He did not disappoint in his first game of the season. He and his team took on Sidney, one of the better teams on their schedule. St. Clair made mincemeat of them en route to leading his team to a victory.

In his opening game, St. Clair led the Chieftains to a 48-27 victory. St. Clair had five total touchdowns in this game, three of them passing and two of them rushing. Every time he stepped on the field, he was very clearly the best player on the field and couldn't be stopped.
This is something that St. Clair is going to have every single game he plays. Still, there are a couple of games on the schedule that could be losses. Westerville Central is a good team again this year, as is Jonathan Alder. Those two teams will be the toughest he faces.
St. Clair has a real shot to compete for the starting quarterback job when he gets to the Buckeyes next year. If he keeps lighting it up in high school, Ohio State football fans are going to want him to start from day one.
