Ohio State football program making big final push for five-star OL
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program already has the best recruiting class in the country thanks to landing a four-star safety recruit on Sunday. The defensive part of the 2025 recruiting class is very strong. Offensively, it's still a work in progress aside from Tavien St. Clair.
One of the players who can help the Buckeyes's class on the offensive side of the ball is offensive lineman David Sanders Jr. He is the best offensive line recruit in the country and is a five-star prospect. He would be the first five-star recruit that Justin Frye has been able to land.
Sanders Jr. had been on campus multiple times. It sounds like the Ohio State football program is making a big final push to get him. Apparently, the Buckeyes are now one of the favorites to land him according to some recruiting analysts.
If Ohio State can land Sanders Jr., that could seal up the fact that this would be the best recruiting class in school history. It's already trending that way, but getting an offensive lineman that good would really help the future of the offensive line group.
Sanders Jr. is the real deal. He run blocks with authority downhill and can get to the second level with ease. In pass protection, it's rare that he gets beaten for a sack. It's rare that he is even pushed backward. He's an excellent blocker in all situations.
There is no indication of when he might make his commitment announcement. What we do know is that the Buckeyes will get the final crack at him in terms of an official visit. He will be on campus next weekend and that's when Ohio State is expected to make a last final push to get him.
Sanders Jr. would be the best offensive line prospect Ohio State has landed in a while. It would be a much-needed win for Justin Frye too.
