The Ohio State football team isn't slowing down on the recruiting trail. They have the best recruiting class in the country for 2025 and are looking to add to it. They have a couple of five-star recruits that they are still waiting on, but that didn't stop them from picking up another recruit on Thursday.

Jarquez Carter, a four-star recruit from the state of Florida, has picked the Ohio State football program. He chose the Buckeyes over Miami, UCF, Penn State, and Florida. He becomes the sixth defensive lineman that the Buckeyes have added to this class.

Carter was projected to pick the Buckeyes, but you never know until it's officially done. Carter gives the Buckeyes some good depth inside. He stands at 6'2 and 284 pounds, so he's a beefy guy. Does this signal that Ohio State is done recruiting on the defensive line?

Ohio State football program should be done picking up defensive line recruits

Adding six defensive linemen in one recruiting class is quite a lot. That is what Ohio State has done in this class. They wanted to build up some depth up front since they only brought in three defensive linemen in last year's class. Ohio State needs to build depth on both lines.

With rosters likely to expand to over 100 players in the near future, the Buckeyes can afford larger recruiting classes. They now have 24 prospects committed for the class of 2025 and are still waiting on a couple of other players to make their decisions in the month of August.

This could end up being one of the biggest classes that the Buckeyes have ever brought in by the time it's all said and done. They may have the room if the new roster rules come through soon. They have to be prepared if that ends up happening.

Carter is a solid player who should get some playing time in a couple of years. You can never have too many guys at defensive tackle.
