The Ohio State football team has used the transfer portal extremely effectively ovcer the past few years. Not only have they added plenty of impact players, but they have added some role players too. Some players have decided to leave to go pursue playing time elsewhere as well.

Ohio State has only lost a few players to the portal this offseason. No player was a more prominent loss in the portal than Kyle McCord. Another Buckeye decided to enter the portal and actually go back to the school where he transferred from last year.

Nigel Glover, a backup linebacker, transferred into the Ohio State football program a year ago. He ended up not seeing the field with the Buckeyes. He transferred in from Northwestern and has now decided to go back to Evanston in stead of staying in Columbus.

There are quite a few players left in the transfer portal who haven't decided on a school yet for this upcoming year. It's highly doubtful that the Buckeyes end up adding anyone else to the roster from the portal, but it's always a possibility. It's more likely that they keep their current roster intact.

Ohio State does have some experience issues at the linebacker position heading into this year. With Steele Chambers and Tommy Eichenberg in the NFL, they don't have any starters coming back. Glover wouldn't have given them much of that so that's not a concern.

Glover played his first year for the Wildcats and will go back to there to hopefully play more. We wish him nothing but the best for his final year. I hope he gets more playing time than he did while he was with the Buckeyes. Ohio State has other talented linebackers who need to see the field this year as well. They all are ready to explode.
