Ohio State Football: Oregon will be the hardest team to beat in 2024 for the Buckeyes

Ohio State travels to Eugene, Oregon in 2024 to play the Oregon Ducks. This will be the biggest test on Ohio State during the regular season. The starting quarterback for Oregon is Dillon Gabriel, a transfer from Oklahoma. They also have two pretty good running backs in Jordan James and Noah Whittington. As for wide receiver they have Traeshon Holden, who did actually look pretty impressive towards the end of the season. As well as Tez Johnson at the slotand a recruit they took from the Buckeyes, Jeremiah McClellan.

The biggest challenge for the Buckeyes from Oregon though is their defense. Last season they held many teams to under 10 and was able to have their defense ranked within the top 10. With a whole new offense and offensive coordinator, there's a chance that Ohio State's team might not completely adjust to the changes made by the time of the game.

While Oregon might not have one of the largest fanbases, Autzen Stadium has been ranked as one of the harder places to go and win at. With all of this Ohio State has the game in about the middle of their season. This lets them prepare for the more challenging games they will have if they do make the playoffs.

The Ohio State football team should want some revenge for the loss in 2021. That was the second game that C.J. Stroud ever started and it looked like it. It would be a huge win to put on their resume for the College Football Playoff too. These are the two best teams in the Big Ten.

Even if Ohio State loses the game, they are still in a good spot to make the CFP as long as they win the rest of their games. It's odd that The Game may not be the hardest game for them in 2024.
