Early in his Michigan coaching career, he was dominated by the Ohio State football program. He was 0-5 and was on the verge of getting fired after a disastrous 2020 season. In that season, he chickened out of playing the Buckeyes and used COVID as an excuse.

After that, we know what happened. Connor Stalions started his cheating spree of illegal scouting and all of a sudden Michigan magically got better. They beat the Ohio State Buckeyes in back-to-back years while that scandal was going on. They won again in 2023 after they were caught.

Despite facing a show cause if he ever returns to college football, Jim Harbaugh refuses to apologize for the cheating scandal. He continues to maintain that he did nothing wrong and that he had no knowledge of the scandal, which seems simply ridiculous based on the evidence.

Jim Harbaugh still won't take responsibility for cheating against the Ohio State football team

When he was asked about the notice of allegations that are about to be delivered to Michigan, he had this to say;

"Yeah, I do have a comment on that. Never lie, never cheat, never steal. I was raised with that lesson. I have raised my family on that lesson. I have preached that lesson to the teams I have coached. No one’s perfect. If you stumble, you apologize and you make it right. Today, I do not apologize. I did not participate, was not aware nor complicit in those said allegations. So for me, it’s back to work and attacking with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind."

For him to say that he was not aware is absurd. He's either a liar, stupid, or both. (If you prefer to see it in video form, take a look) As a head coach, you are responsible for what happens in your program. Whether you know something is happening or not, you are responsible because it's your program. He still refuses to take responsibility.

The Ohio State football team will likely never have to see Harbaugh on the sidelines again. The 2023 season was very likely his last season ever coaching college football. Good riddance.
