Ohio State football coaches won't have limit at games this season

A new rule has passed that will allow the Ohio State football team to have as many coaches as they want on the field for a game.

The Ohio State football team has a lot of coaches on staff. They added a fair amount of new coaches this offseason. All of the full-time coaches were going to be involved on gameday no matter what, although not all of them would have been on the field.

Previously, the NCAA had restrictions on how many coaches could be on the field for games. A new rule has just been passed that eliminates any restrictions on the number of coaches that can be on the field for games. That means that even analysts can be on the field if they want to.

The Ohio State football program will likely still set a cap on how many guys they actually want down at field level for the game. They don't want too much chaos on the sidelines. Still, this does eliminate any tough decisions regarding bringing coaches down to the field.

The NCAA has had a lot of rule changes in the last few months. The game is going to look a lot different than it has even in the last five years. Between the NIL rules, changes in how players will get paid, and rules on the field, it's not the same game a lot of people have grown up with.

This rule change for the coaches is not a big one like the other ones. This will help not just the Buckeyes, but other programs around the country as well. Ohio State will likely still keep Jim Knowles up in the booth because that's where he is the most comfortable, although he has been on the sidelines before.

Whatever coaches that are on the sidelines just need to be the ones that can help the Buckeyes win games. That's the ultimate goal in all of this. I don't think this changes Ryan Day's thought process too much.
