The Oho State football team and head coach Ryan Day are getting things accomplished on the recruiting trail. Gaining two more commitments yesterday with four-star tight end Nate Roberts and three-star safety Cody Haddad, the Buckeyes have officially jumped to No. 1 for the 2025 recruiting class rankings, according to 247 Sports.

With 13 commitments, that include prized five-star players in corner Devin Sanchez, quarterback Tavian St. Clair, and corner Na’eem Offord, Ohio State could finally land the top-overall class, something not even Urban Meyer accomplished while in Columbus.

The Buckeyes have been on a great run recently in recruiting by adding Roberts, Haddad, four-star linebacker Tarvos Alford, four-star defensive lineman London Merritt, four-star receiver De’zie Jones and four-star safety DeShawn Stewart over the course of the last month.

And things don't appear to be slowing down either as Ohio State is still in great shape on a number of top recruits that include four-star running backs Bo Jackson and Jordan Davison, five-star safety Trey McNutt, five-star offensive tackle David Sanders, four-star defensive end Damien Shanklin, and four-star receiver Jaime Ffrench.

The Buckeyes also hosted over 45 recruits yesterday at the Spring game. A perfect example for these recruits to see what it's like to be a Buckeye in front of 80,000 diehard fans. Another 2025 five-star safety was a part of that group, Jonah Williams of Galveston, Texas.

Williams is predicted to wind up in Oklahoma, but his showing up for the Spring game is a great sign that he's at least very interested in becoming a Buckeye. He's also good friends with Ohio State commit Devin Sanchez, so there's a possible connection there.

Next. Next story. Three winners and three losers from the Spring Game. dark

Overall it's been a great run for Mark Pantoni and his staff on the recruiting trail. Hopefully, Ohio State can close this class out strong and earn the No. 1 ranking for 2025.
