The Ohio State football team struggled at times in the first half against Michigan State. They weren't crisp on defense and got bailed out on two Michigan State drives with turnovers. This game should have been a lot closer without those turnovers. Will Howard threw a bad pick that led to Michigan State's lone points.

There were some positives in the first half though. The offense looked good when they got the ball to one specific player. That player is true freshman Jeremiah Smith. Smith had a touchdown on a little reverse play that was a great call by Chip Kelly. That's not the play that has fans talking though.

Smith had two insane catches for the Buckeyes in the second quarter. Both catches were instrumental in the Ohio State Buckeyes taking a 24-7 lead into the locker room. He's cementing that he might be the best receiver the Buckeyes have on the roster already.

The first catch was on a prayer by Howard. He just threw the ball up to Smith while he had one-on-one coverage and he was able to make a one-handed grab while being pulled down by the facemask. If that catch wasn't good enough for you, he outdid himself at the end of the half.

On 3rd-and-10 with Devin Brown in the game because Howard was knocked out, Smith made another insane one-handed grab for a touchdown. Take a look:

It doesn't get much better than that. Smith is a physical freak, and he's showing that he's better than everyone else out on the field. Ohio State football fans should get used to seeing that every week because that's what he's going to bring to the table.

Smith is the best weapon this team has already on a team full of special players on offense.
