Former Ohio State football player J.K. Dobbins was one of the best running backs in Ohio State history. He ran for over 2000 yards in his final season before heading to the NFL. He ended up being a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

That has been the highlight of his NFL career so far. Unfortunately, he has suffered a myriad of injuries. After a promising rookie career that saw him run for 805 yards and 9 touchdowns, he hasn't come close to those numbers since. He's blown out his knee twice and has torn his Achilles.

Quite frankly, Dobbins has never been able to stay healthy. He's still just 25 and has a lot of tread on his tires. He just needs to be given a chance for playing time. Dobbins also needs to prove he can stay healthy. One team is giving him another chance to prove that.

Dobbins signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers on Wednesday to play for Jim Harbaugh. It will be an odd pairing to see the former Ohio State football player play for the former Michigan coach. But this is his last chance in the league.

If Dobbins suffers another season-ending injury, he might not get another chance in the NFL. He might be listed as damaged goods. It would be a label he's earned. It sucks because he was one of the most talented running backs I've ever seen come through Columbus.

It would be a really nice comeback story if Dobbins could revive his career in LA. With Austin Ekler gone, he will be fighting with his former Ravens teammate Gus Edwards for the starting running back spot. It would be cool to see him win it and play well.

Next. Next story. Three more Ohio State football players who could transfer. dark

We will be following Dobbins this season and how he does.
