There is no shortage of former Ohio State football players in the NFL. The Buckeyes put a ton of players into the league in the Urban Meyer era. The Ryan Day has seen plenty of Buckeyes join the NFL as well. Most of them have done pretty well in the NFL so far.

One former Ohio State football player did not do so well in the league. That's cornerback Gareon Conley. Conley was a former first-round pick by the Raiders back in the 2017 NFL Draft. He did not play very well in Oakland and was released after just three seasons.

Following that stint, Conley played for the Houston Texans for two seasons. His NFL career looked like it was over after that and he remained unsigned for four years. He recently played for the DC Defenders in the UFL in the first form of football he's played since then.

His play ended up attracting one NFL team enough to sign him to a deal. Conley is back in the NFL after signing a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys. While he certainly won't be looked as a starter, he gives the Cowboys some depth and gives them a guy with former starting ability.

This is very clearly Conley's last chance in the NFL. He has to make this last. The former Buckeye will likely fill in if the Cowboys suffer a rash of injuries in the secondary. He also still has to play well in training camp in order to secure a roster spot before the season starts.

It would be great to see Conley latch on with Dallas and get a chance to play well. He was a strong corner when he played for the Buckeyes. We know he has the talent and physical ability to reclaim that play again.
